Janny Cheong is one of our run ambassadors for Run For Light 2018. She has always been leading an active lifestyle until a calamity struck her not very long ago.
She was diagnosed with cancer. A tough cookie as she always is, she has never let a major setback to pin her down. While still dealing with one calamity, she suffered a stroke too – it was double whammy which could fell the toughest of being but certainly, not her. Admittedly, it was trying time for her. Coupled with that, she has to take care of her mother who, unfortunately is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. One of her motivations to get well is to take care of her mother. Her mother is her pillar of strength, regardless of the tough path ahead.
Janny always wears a smile on her face even though she was having pain in her body. She will either cycle or run whenever her physical condition can allow. For a person who is recovering from cancer and stroke, it will certainly stretch her mental and physical state of mind to the limit.
She hopes to inspire many, especially, those who are still healthy to take up running to stay fit. This is her simple message to all, “If I can do it, so can you.” Remember to give her a high five if you see her at the start line on race day.
